Friends visiting Halifax host a dinner in this place. We had a wonderful night, in a very nice place, with very good food and amazing service. As my friend used to say the atmosphere was not bad for being in a hotel restaurant. From the beginning, everything was fantastic. The waitress from Brazil was so nice and delivered extraordinary service. My expectations before the dinner were so low, first because restaurants in a hotel are not always the best place to be, and secondly, some of the reviews were so bad. But in the end, nothing of these were true. Thanks for the service and the food. We had a great time in your place.

I was here for a Christmas party with my friends. The food was great and the service was amazing. Our server Neeti was friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. Everything came out perfect and we had a really nice time. Would definitely recommend!

We had just flown on from Vancouver and were booked at the Lord Nelson hotel. We had a great dining experience at The Arms. The tomato soup and Fish & Chips were delicious. Our server was so friendly & helpful offering us lots of information about the highlights of Halifax and Nova Scotia.

Very much enjoyed our Saturday brunch. They have lots of different seating options, including a sunny deck with a nice view of the Public Gardens, but we decided on a booth inside with a window seat. We more or less had the place to ourselves which was nice and surprising. The included mimosas were a great start. My breakfast with sausage, eggs, and sourdough was delicious—the potatoes were perfectly seasoned, though the food could have been hotter. My partner had the eggs Benedict and loved the peameal bacon and the hollandaise sauce. The service was great, and the coffee was excellent, too. My partner went Sunday as well with some friends and had a different server, and they were let down by the experience. It was much busier on Sunday and somehow the service suffered. We still plan to go back because our first visit was so great. The food and the atmosphere are definitely worth it.

The Arms was one of the last places we visited for brunch during our trip to Halifax, and it didn’t disappoint. Located right inside The Lord Nelson Hotel (where we stayed), the ambience strikes a nice balance between English elegance and a cozy pub. The Seafood Chowder was rich yet light, letting the freshness of the seafood really shine. I had the English Style Fish and Chips, and it was delicious! The fries were soft inside with a crispy crunch on the outside, while the cod was nicely battered and fried—crispy but not heavy at all. Everything was fresh, well-balanced, and seasoned just right. Our server, Ethan (if I remember correctly!), was calm, professional, and friendly. They were quick and attentive when taking our orders, which made the entire experience even more enjoyable. If you’re looking for a brunch spot with great food and warm service in Halifax, The Arms is definitely worth a visit :-) I’m hoping to grab dinner here next time we visit!

My first time to the Arms and we are frequent guests of the Lord Nelson where it's located. We were not disappointed. Went for the Dine around Halifax menu. Soup was amazing, tuna done to perfection. Atmosphere was a 10 and the service was amazing. Will be returning to try the regular menu! We booked our table as it was Valentine's Day. Unsure if reservations are normally necessary.
